An Essex pub which is refusing to take down its assortment of golly dolls, has been instructed it could not be featured throughout the Camra Good Beer Information, or be eligible for its awards.
The White Hart, in Grays, Essex, was visited by police for displaying the dolls, which can be considered to be racist depictions, who then eradicated them, after receiving a report that any person felt racially harassed, alarmed or distressed on the presence of the figures.
The pub’s homeowners insist they aren’t racist, instead saying the dolls are “childhood historical past”.
Marketing campaign for Actual Ale (Camra), which is a recognition physique for pubs throughout the UK, has said the venue in question won’t be considered for any future awards, or inclusion in its annual Good Pub Information.
In a set of tweets, the physique said it was “baffling that any pub would select to discriminate in opposition to prospects or potential prospects by persevering with to show offensive materials”.

Camra moreover said it has amended the pub’s description on its website online, so it now says the venue “has chosen to show materials which is discriminatory and offensive”.
It accused the pub’s earlier self-submitted description of being “problematic and makes gentle of the offensive nature of the supplies displayed”.
